Annual Performance Competition
At Greenwich School of Music, we believe performing is an important part of learning music. Each year, we hold our Annual Performance Competition, giving students the opportunity to showcase their progress, build confidence, and receive professional feedback.
How It Works
Choose a Piece
Students work with their tutor to select a performance piece from their current repertoire or exam syllabus.
Record the Performance
During a lesson, the tutor records a high-quality video or audio performance.
Professional Feedback
Recordings are reviewed by an independent music professional, and every student receives written feedback to help them continue improving.
Awards
Outstanding performances are recognised across different age groups and ability levels.
Awards & Recognition
Winners and runners-up receive:
- A Greenwich School of Music Certificate.
- Musical prizes, such as sheet music, accessories, or other music-related rewards.
- The opportunity to have their performance featured in our online student showcase (with parent or student permission).
More Than a Competition
Our Annual Performance Competition is about much more than winning. It encourages students to work towards a goal, develop confidence in performing, and gain valuable feedback from an experienced musician. Most importantly, it celebrates the hard work and progress of every student.
